[GreenKeys] 28 ASR in Texas - pictures 1

I picked up the machine this afternoon.  It was a disappointment to say
the least.  The fellow who had it apparently buys houses and then
renovates and "flips" them.  He said that the machine was left in a
house he bought.  My guess is that it may have belonged to a ham (or,
maybe old WU technician?) who went SK and the family could not get rid
of the machine and so just left it.  I have taken quite a few pictures.
I may have to send these in batches if that is OK.  It's much more of a
"project" than I hoped for. The right side of the cabinet may have been
sitting in dirt and then some plants grew up inside of it.  There was a
*lot* of dirt in the case on that side and quite a lot of small leaves
(apparently fresh) on the inside over the typing unit.  I guess I am
most concerned about the typing unit.  I was able to turn the motor by
hand.  It and the main accessory shaft turned by hand fairly easily so I
guess that is a good sign.  Several years ago I bought a 28ASR which was
definitely nothing but a parts machine so I might be able to cannibalize
some things from it.  The large K-T-KT knob selector on the front is
broken and does not grab the shaft.  According to a tag on the typing
unit and TD, probably the last time this was serviced was 1975.  In the
bottom of the case, unfortunately on the right side with all the dirt,
was an envelope with some paperwork titled "Modification of 11707 Wiring
Cabinet. It is dated 22 October 1975.  It had obviously been waterlogged
and full of dirt so not much of it will be salvageable.  But, I was able
to see that the "patron" was International Transport. The description of
the machine was:  P115 M28 ASR W/SSS & 13156 FMC.  Maybe that will mean
something to someone on the list.  You will see that the tag states
Allentown.  The only Allentown I'm familiar with is in PA but I'm sure
there are others.

Anyway,  here goes with some pictures.
