Same for the Navy. I was told that there was a Navy Regulation governing the maximum length of sideburns.
It referred to some named part of the ear as the lowest a sideburn could be. I zoomed in on those 'burns' also.
I was in between June 1957 and March of 1961. I enlisted for four years but was one of thousands who were
able to take advantage of a service wide 90 day cut in EAOS dates.

We wouldn't have gotten away with sideburns like that in the Army in
1970! Always interesting to see how the other half lived.
