I found the paint code in the case showed it should be light navy gray.  It also has a DOD contract tag attached just behind the motor.  

The contract number is 600-67-D-0770. 

So I sanded, primed and repainted the cover from the tan that it was back to the color light machine gray.  Here is the final product.
