[GreenKeys] WD-40

Great photo.  Thanks for that link.

In the lower left corner there is a metal plate with a symetrical series of “punch marks” on it’s surface.  I have seen this surface used before, but I know nothing about it.  Could someone please enlighten me (us) as to what this surface technique is called, how it's done and what its purpose is or what does it provide?
