Because of all sorts of increasing QRM, VK (and perhaps ZL) has settled on
a standard CTCSS tone of 91.5 where needed; our emergency support service
(WICEN) uses 123 for historical reasons (and it's just as well that we use
50Hz and not 60Hz!).
Boards are available from the usual sources; they can be strapped for
any CTCSS tone, and the level is easily adjustable. I guess that would
upset the purists though, but that's progress for you...
