Dear Greenkeys,
I wanted to finally introduce myself after lurking for some time. Nearly three years ago I got an Olivetti TE-318 teleprinter and restored it to operation. I’ve written up some of my notes on the construction and operation of this machine:

It’s been a fun journey working with this unusual and seemingly rare (in the US) machine. The greatest challenge was restoring the parallelizer mechanism, which required 3D printing new plastic levers that become brittle and smashed to pieces. Since getting the machine to work initially, I’ve made steady improvements and been able to document the workings of a number of components. There is still more work to do, but it's reliable enough and a fun console for an RPi when I’m “zoomed out”.
I’ve had it online tweeting (https://ef1j.org/wiki/index.php?n=Main.PPTWEET <https://ef1j.org/wiki/index.php?n=Main.PPTWEET>), and these days I regularly use it to print out zone weather forecasts and do a little ASCII art.
I’m eager to share documentation — if anyone has any. I’d also like to dive into an ASR-33 to compare the mechanics at some point.
Kind regards,
Eric F.
