Wanna bet the ribbon is dried out :-}? Note that the last several images
are of the operating procedures. "cabled to the audio system" -- AFSK?
Apparently it's activated continuously once on-orbit; no mention of needing
to switch it "in-loop" or anything.

Interesting! I wonder what the printing technology is. The printer mechanism
seems to be behind a metal cover. But, I can see a ribbon. There are two
reels on the left side, so the ribbon loops back to the left possibly to
save space. Since there's a ribbon, it's an impact printer of some sort.
