[GreenKeys] Re-inking

I can attest to how messy it can be to work on Teletypes. What did
professional maintanance people wear or do about the inevitable schmutz?
I worked for 33 years in the elevator craft. Our work included
escalators, and they are undoubtably one of the greasiest and nasty
things to work on. When we would do major repairs, we would go to the
Salvation Army store or equal and buy whatever clothing  was cheapest
and fit us. After the work was finished, the shop people would rip it
all up and use it for wiping rags.

>> Acetone attacks many plastics , not good for typewriters. A better solvent is Naphtha. I have had consistently good results with Ronsonol. The solvent can be applied to the type bar hinges with an "acid" brush or an artist's bristle brush. Note that a M 15 mechanism is very similar to an Underwood Standard typerwriter so similar cleaning and care should work for both.
