That works!. All my other range finders don't seem to need any pressure before they can be rotated. Thank you (I sure feel dumb)

There is probably some 'mechanical bias' in the machine ...  you could drive yourself batty trying to find the cause, or you could just subtract 30 
from 120 and divide by 2   ;)
