Nuts touch screen caused a premature sending.
.... reminds me of molasses. Not water soluble. Acetone does seem to work, but will take a gallon and a ton of cotton balls to fully remove all traces. My fingers feel like I just picked up the honey jar except water and soap doesn't work well on this stuff.
Anyone have a suggestion for solvent that might work better?
As I was retrieving the heat gun, I notice a utility knife bade. I used a small namer and lightly tapped the bayside of the blade on each side of the relay base. That broke loose the grip of the resin like stuff and I was able to remove the relay.
There appears to be no damage other than the presence all this resin. The color and vescosity remind me of

Anyone run into these? I Have one plugged into a line relay assembly and can't get it out. It looks like it's glued into place or some gunk (potting material) has seeped out of the relay. Not mercury, I'm pretty sure if for no reason other than it wouldn't have contained that much. Besides it is somewhat sticky. Would there have been an application where they would have glued the relays it place?
While on the subject, my line relay assembly (relay base) has more leads on it than any WD I have found. I've got 8 and what WDs I find only show 5. Today has just been full of mysteries.
