I heard the first at my college radio station around 1970 (

"twirly tweet" (too early to eat).
We also did fun stuff with full track Ampex tape recorders. Record a
phrase. Play it backwards and imitate it, making a recording of the
imitation. Then play the imitation backwards. How close did you get?
By the way, work on the DSP TU ( https://w6iwi.org/rtty/DspTU2/ )
continues. I've now got a menu system running so a user can change a lot
of the configuration. I'll do more testing and documentation next week.
