[GreenKeys] 33 in VA

I had not scrolled through all the pictures even see that. I looked at the first picture and saw that the metal front plate was missing. But as you noticed in the other picture, they had it and laid it on top of the keyboard. I have two AR 33s that are in pretty good shape but missing the front panel.

I think the photo where the 4th row was covered by the Wester Union front plate made me wrong deduce it was a 32, just 3 rows.

I see an 8-bit 1" tape and the reader with Manual-Start/Auto/Manual-Stop/Free.

The four-row keyboard means it is a 33 (7-bit ascii 110-baud) with 8-bit 1" paper tape (I see eight holes). This machine defined ascii did it not? The three-row keyboard would be a model 32 (5-bit baudot) with the narrow (11/16 iirc) tape.

Apologies for the voice. Dictation error in my previous. “4 row” … became ‘borrow’…

I agree the paper tape is questionable. You can’t tell what the punch reader itself is could be the wrong paper it could be a hybrid machine that’s been upgraded transformed who the heck knows.

That said the paper tape looks 5 bit to me. It may be someone put the wrong tape in it.

Borrow keyboard would indicate a 33 to me. As opposed to the three row keyboard on the 32.

Isn’t that a 32 and not a 33, or am I looking cross-eyed? Wouldn’t be the first time!
