Teletype's manuals specified paper to be 16 lb Min, 32-80 lb Max. The weight being based on 500 sheets, 17" x 22" which turns out to be the same basis as normal bond paper weight basis.

Anybody want to be first to try 8.5" X 225' headrest paper and report back?
Looks like the core is oversize and quality not the best but maybe someone can grab some from their doctors office and try it?
Amazon has large boxes and with prime, free shipping. Some advertised as smooth finish and the weight might be good for our purpose.

It sometimes seems like a descent into madness while I’m doing it. But tractor/continuous feed paper is still pretty cheap and can choose varying thickness. With an 8.5” jig or using tray from a printer (for a guide to keep it aligned)…. And a spare hour….
I keep the core and roll my own.
I was going to switch to POS after I ran out but it sounds like I might just keep doing this.
Born from a need to use up tractor paper sitting around for my Commodore PET... Meh - it’s doable since it’s only like every other month or so.

I was copying the RATT group today and there was some talk about Teletype paper.
I just ordered a box of 12 paper rolls from POS Supply for $95.95, free shipping. I was amazed at how thin it is. It is just barely thick enough to use on a Teletype. If they make it any thinner, I swear you could hang it in the bathroom. I think they glue the end down with gorilla glue. You have to waste a couple feet of paper to load it. It loaded in a 28 easily but I had trouble loading it in my 32. .So be warned if you order from them. It is usable, but barely.
It's really hard to find good paper. I got a few rolls from Staples a while ago (made by PM company) and it's like newsprint....really poor quality. Michael
