As previously mentioned, I really don't like high voltage on the sleeve of
connectors. A lot of Telco insulated connectors have a little brass screw
that holds the insulated cover on. Dangerous!
I do TRS jacks with all equipment having a TRS plug and floating circuitry
(such as a keyboard in series with a selector magnet, or in the case of a
TU, an SSR in series with an opto current sensor). Any piece of equipment
can be plugged into any patch jack with no shock hazard. Some photos at
