[GreenKeys] Another non-standard RTTY terminal

Very good! I did remember correctly that it is a thermal printer.
According to Wikipedia, it uses thermal paper. I think I remember some
thermal printers that had a ribbon and were a "thermal transfer" type of
printer resulting in lower paper cost. The Silent 700 series cost about
$2k back then.

In the Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_700 ) about
the Silent 700, it says that they had trouble getting it up to 120 cps
when 1200 bps modems became popular ("the Silent 700 faced the problem
that its printhead technology simply couldn't "heat up all the little
dots" at 120 characters per second."). The solution was to double the
number of heating elements so each section still worked at 60 cps.

I am still amazed at how fast thermal inkjet printers can print. And those
thermal point of sale terminals that print a several foot receipt in a
second or two are pretty amazing.

Finally, I asked Google about a Baudot version of the Silent 700:

Yes, a Baudot version of the Silent 700 was produced.

The Texas Instruments Silent 700 line of data terminals included specific
models designed to use the 5-level Baudot code (also known as CCITT code),
primarily for compatibility with existing teleprinter networks.

Key Baudot models included:

Model 732 Available in Keyboard Send/Receive (KSR), Receive Only (RO), and
Automatic Send/Receive (ASR) configurations, the latter featuring
integrated dual magnetic tape cassettes.

Model 751 This model used a serial current-loop interface and was
specifically designed for communications terminal applications using
Baudot/CCITT code.
These Baudot models were introduced alongside their US-ASCII counterparts,
such as the Model 733 and other various models, offering users a choice of
character codes and interfaces to suit their specific application needs.
The Silent 700 series was notable for its quiet thermal printing, which
was a significant improvement over the noisy mechanical teletypes it often
replaced.
