Thanks to qrpbuilder.com for suggesting exam table headrest paper as a substitute for TTY paper.  I built essentially the adapter he suggested, but I used cut-off chunks of the same PVC pipe to make the "cuffs" at the ends of the adapter instead of gorilla tape.

This was a "just in time" situation, since we just got enough of our PDP-8 working that the console teletype is now useful for running things like ODT -- the octal debugging tool.  There's still something wrong, but debugging it will run through paper, and we only have most of one original roll in hand.  Now we can save that for the rare occasions when authentic TTY paper is called for.

My one complaint about the exam paper is that it doesn't tear off cleanly against the tear edge of the Model 33's plexiglass window.
