The Model 14 tape printer (1925) was widely used by railroads.
It's small and reliable enough for use in signal towers.
This had the first good selector mechanism, also used
in the Model 15. That mechanism barely changed until about 1958.
Many Model 14 and Model 15 machines survive and still work.
Very few of the other pre-WWII designs still run. There was one
guy who claimed to have a working Model 12.
