[GreenKeys] New Guy

Hi,

I've been subscribed to this list before but never posted. I have had 2
model 15s and a simplex printer 2-B sitting around for 10ish years and
I've finally decided to start restoring the 2 model 15s.

One of the Model 15s I have is really nice, it came with a wooden stand
with the switches on top and electrical outlets underneath. It doesn't
have any Teletype nameplates on it like I've seen online. Also, it's
kind of strange in that the cover doesn't have a cutout for the power
switch. The guy who sold it to me gave me a waiver he had to sign back
in 1961. I also have the manual for it.

The phone cords are kind of shot. The cloth is in good shape but the
insulation where the wires split out is all decayed and they would
definitely short out. I've seen sources of new cloth covered wire
online and was wondering if anyone here has sourced any before.

Both units are missing the platen cranks and the one in worse condition
is missing the carriage return key and and the 'X' keycap (just the
green part). The other part that may be harder to remedy is the oil
felts between the cams on one of the keyboard encoding mechanisms are
all missing. Is it possible to install replacements?

Thanks for reading.

Jeremy
