[Lowfer] Loopers are legal!

Eric,

I like the way you think! One of the interpretations that allows ME to
sleep as well is that the antenna could be a solid sheet of copper 15 meters
on a side. Should be legal since the "length" is 15 meters either way. Now,
cut a small slot around the perimeter leaving say a 2" wide strip having a
length of 60 meters - and you have your Ashlock loop. Still legal.

I think the real reason the 15 x 15 meter loop hasn't been challenged by the
FCC (and this assumes they care) is that the radiation from a loop of these
dimensions does not exceed the radiation of a legal 15 meter vertical when
both are in an open field and the ground conditions (including radials) are
ideal for the vertical. My measurements have pretty much shown that even if
the loop conductor were to be something ridiculously large in diameter, like
4" copper pipe, the loss resistance (Rac as I call it) would be limited by
the ground losses and it would still not beat the vertical.

Now that I've killed all interest in the TX loop, I have to point out that
in a woods environment the loop ALWAYS beats the vertical. :)
..........Also quicker to install by 100x, etc, etc, etc.
