Ahhhhh!  That WAS a killer antenna worthy of a loop battle!! 1. What was the 
effect of that much radialality (new word) on the antenna current??  ....and 
2. On radiation at a distance??   Remember now, I've told you all MY 
secrets. <G>

It's easy to forget that the radials offer two different benefits for a 
vertical: Improving the local LRC circuit Q which of course maximizes the 
antenna current, AND providing an improved wave launch platform. It's the 
second one that isn't well understood and should still be needed by loop 
antennas.
