I might add that some literature indicates a 20db average reduction for
daytime skywave signal strength compared to the night, which would agree
pretty much with your "low to non-existent" statement. The fact that some of
us copy Mitch (MP) and other LF beacons during the day on skywave in spite
of the 20db handicap is due to the lower noise and sufficient transmitted
signal strength to over-ride the noise.
