I enjoyed my visit a number of years back to Ixtapa. Only thing I did wrong was
to eat a delicious steak that was served on a wooden plate. The steak was fine-
but that plate probably harbored some bugs as in the water- spent that evening
in the  bathroom with quite a fever !
