WWLP TV news reported this evening that Barnes ANG Base (104 Fighter Wing),
(Barnes Municipal Airport), Westfield, MA would be holding annual exercises
this weekend (11/21 & 11/22/) from 0600 to 1800 hrs daily . Apparently
there could be gun fire/explosions heard, base Public Address system
sounding alerts, etc... Might be a GREAT opportunity to do some "on scene"
monitoring to try to find ALL frequencies being utilized by the Air National
Guard....

The best place to park is in the gravel parking area next to the airport
administration building/tower. Additionally the "Flight Deck Restaurant" is
open (0700 to 1400 hrs) so hobbyists can relax inside for a bit & have a
great breakfast, lunch, OR some sort of snack. Additionally if you need to
buy some aviation publications/aero charts, they might be available at the
FBO Five Star Jet (http://www.fivestarjets.com/ ) right next to the parking
area.

Also Grove's "Military Frequency Directory" 2nd editions lists 8 VHF
highband support nets frequencies (148-150.8 mhz)...
Additionally some recently monitored active aviation frequencies (am mode)
included: 138.05, 138.25, 139.9, 251.1, 325.8, 303.0.

I hope to be able to make it!
