Lloyd:

I am sure those were all AN/ARC-5 rigs, not SCR-274N rigs. I.e. R-
23/ARC-5 or R-24/ARC-5. My ARC-5 manual states that the receivers 
in those ranges were considered "Navigation" receivers, whereas the 
others were all "Communications" receivers.

My SCR-274N manual doesn't mention such a thing at all.

I have never seen a BC-453 with the loop connections, but, I suppose, 
there could be some somewhere.

I have never, ever, seen the loop or loop control for one of the loops 
which were supposed to be connected to the R-23 or R-24 either, 
although my ARC-5 manual does mention them.
