Rob -

I think I may have an ARC-38 in the garage. Years ago there used to be a
fellow, who was pretty young, but had some sort of terminal illness. A real
nice guy. He built a remote control box for his ARC-38 and used it all the
time on 3885 AM. Unfortunately I do not remember his call, I think it was a
KA2 something, and he also passed away 5 to 7 years ago. Wonder where his
radio wound up. - Mike

Subject: [MRCA] 618S1/ARC-38

I am looking for any service or maintenance information on the ARC-38A
transceiver. I have a couple of the ARC-38A stabilized master oscillator
assemblies (8314514-501) and would like to convert one back to a ARC-38 smo
(506-6884-006) want to try to update my 618S1 to a ARC-38, not a 38A because
the radio is used for AM operation. Have newer and better radios for SSB,
may put together working ARC-38A system afterwards for fun. If you want to
see what a 618S1, ARC-38A looks like I put a new link on my web page
showing both at www.ka3ekh.net
