But anyone heard reason everybody was overboard on 2-6 mhz 2-ways in
30s?  Well big #1 was probably you cud make 'em.

But at least big #2 was range wud work in jungle.

Case in point.  SCR-178 1931-ish field 2-way.  These were hand-me-
downs (note HM) given to Chindits working for Gen'l Vinegar Joe
Stilwell on Burma Rd (good book on him).  Those BC-186s et. al. were
all that wud work thru the canopy.  

So comes 12/7/41 & what happens?  Dumont gets contract to make
a bunch more because of Burma success... and tooling (Cardwell) was there.
I have a '42-contract '178 set.  OTA...  many have heard it's .wav
file over web.
