About the Door Bell.  When the USAF Control Towers began to
use Kollsman "Altimeters", the panel had a  buzzer and a push
button in it.
You could tell whether the barometer was rising or falling by noting
which way way the needle went when the little buzzer was used.
I have one of those altimeters I found one day in 1962.  It still
works very well.  I just tap the glass.
