Hi Hue,
I found a 526-9098-000 on a list with other Collins 200 kc filters, and
a reference to it on a parts list and both indicate it is a mechanical
filter. The Collins list with the triple zero part number and labeled
with filter #1 and filter #2 is a dual filter unit with 3 kc nominal
bandwidth ar 6 dB down. It would be of value to somebody repairing a
receiver or transmitter that uses it, updating a receiver that has a
200kc I.F. strip, or somebody building a receiver (or transmitter) with
a 200 kc I.F. strip.
The parts list indicate that it came from an aircraft and is listed
along with some other radio parts suggesting it was used in an aircraft
radio.
Other list members may have better or more accurate information. I
recently started acquiring Collins 455 kc mechanical filters to upgrade
an otherwise half decent receiver I have here with 455 kc IF strips and
in the process I downloaded documents from the internet to help guide
the selection. I'm currently snooping around looking for F455FA-05 /
526-9494-00, a 500 kc bandwidth CW filter to complete the upgrade of a
Ten Tec receiver that was sold with SSB and AM ceramic filters with wide
skirts.
How much do you want for it Hue? I'm generally using HF I.F. strips and
crystal filters in my homebrew projects. If it's not too expensive I
would build a lowfer around it. I have a CW receiver project Going
together around a Drake CW crystal filter with BFO xtal I got for $20
from a "phony" ham (phone only ham).
