It's been a long time since I fired it up;
I was using a GRC-109 power supply so
that's IIRC 400V TX B+, which is pretty "hot" for
a 6V6, but with a short duty cycle they didn't melt. ;-)
I don't recommend it- as you noted, it could risk
the modulation transformer.  I probably used the
power supply's primary taps to "calm it down"|
but don't remember now.  I should put it
back on the air.  I have everything for the set except
the canvas, IIRC.
Even RCA-marked mike and headphones and complete GN-44.
I wonder about the genny seat; don't think it could support
anyone who weighs over 100 lbs.
