I saw some movie, or as much as i could stand, about, i think, Philippine Islands resistance. This movie was another 1950s "quality product". The guerilla forces had a Brit No. 19 set in a trunk. Sneak that past the Japanese in Manila ! Yes, i "tuned out".
This is one reason i felt kindness toward the movie Destination Gobi'. Someones working on the movie actually had knowledge about the events, the time and place.
I do have USN radio designed especially for that specific time and place. But one memoirist says that the American Tourister sized suitcases were like a neon sign, "I AM A SPY".
