Odd.  I notice quite the opposite, especially in fringe areas where 
little to nothing at all captures anything, daily, comms, and broadcast. 
  Now, If I'm near a 50kW station, that'll overpower something else, why 
wouldn't it, but in fringe areas, it's all a crap-shoot.  It's pretty 
annoying, because when I listen to stuff, I sometimes hear 2-3 things at 
a time, in FM, when traveling around Nevada.  I shut off the radio(s). 
That's why I wonder if it's some particular funky receiver design, and 
something specific that does it.

Perhaps the other fellow will jump in.  I don't' recall which Mil list 
he's in, but he commented on it recently.
