Ray,

As a temporary fix so that one can use the radio can you replace the meter with one of those small Japanese edge meters like the one used in my Lafayette Wavemeter? (The Wavemeter was my first piece of test equipment acquired 50 odd years ago with an Ameco AC-1.)

Still also perplexed by why low currents don’t do anything at all on the original meter? But I have also seen these meters get wonkey before where you sometimes have to smack the radio to get them moving again.
