Tom Marcotte has kept the production figures. Here is the likely
outdated list I have from some time ago. A quick Google search did
not reveal the current location of Tom's list. I hope someone reports
it.
R-390A/URR Contract List

Special thanks to Wally Chamber-K5OP, Les Locklear, and the hundreds
of owners
who have contributed the information from their radios.
The numbers shown are high serial numbers reported by owners.

Notes:
- EAC radios were made at Red bank, NJ. These are the latest mass-
produced sets.
- All Dittmore-Freimuth radios were made by EAC at Red Bank, NJ.
- Amelco, Teledyne and Imperial radios all made in the same Culver
City, CA plant by Teledyne.
- Communications Systems of Morton Grove, IL made some whole
radios on old tooling acquired
from Stewart-Warner, but they were reportedly so bad that the Army
rejected the lot.
- Clavier, Capehart and Fowler were all rooted in the same NY
company. Fowler radios were hand made at Port Jervis, NY in the mid
80’s as a product of outdated specifications for the Whidbey Island
Class of LSD ships made by Avondale Shipyards of Louisiana, starting
with Gunston Hall, LSD 44, April, 1989. The total number is known to
be five units.
- Capehart for NBS s.n.s likely start at 10000 as only one radio
has surfaced.
These R-390A contracts are not
included as no whole set examples
have been witnessed. Parts and
modules exist, however (spares?).
