MCHRC is always learning about and enjoying Ham Radio.  We can send Emails, Text, and Pictures all without the internet and Have Fun Doing It. We like to say “give us a Radio and a wire”, (and maybe a computer) and we can communicate with the World.  We like to learn New Software, to build Ham Radio Projects, and learn new ways to Communicate.

We are always open to those “what if questions.  So if that sounds like something you like to do, come join us.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

At the Marion County EOC (Emergency Operations Center) in Columbia, MS.

All amateur radio operators and those interested in becoming Amateur Radio operators are welcome to attend, or even if you just want to learn more about what we do.

The Marion County Ham Radio Club exists to promote, support and provide learning opportunities related to ham radio. Members of the amateur radio community possess the knowledge, equipment, experience, authorization and desire to provide emergency communications wherever the need exists. We can also provide communications during community events like marathons, sporting events and public celebrations. We recruit new enthusiasts through free classes and mentoring. There are no age limits for ham radio licensing so all are encouraged to participate.

Join us on the Columbia 147.285 repeater, tone is 123.0.

Marion County Hams, Chekesha KG5QAW, Will K5EME,Ryan KG5TTK, and Reo AG5AB Sending

Receiving digital messages during 2017 SET.  These messages are being sent during a simulated power and internet outage to other stations all over the State of Mississippi.  Simulated Emergency Training is an annual exercise that occurs the first weekend in August which tests our ability to serve our Communities during times of disaster. We provide the ability to pass vital information from the effected area to Agencies out side who can provide assistance. Our Hams have demonstrated that they are well prepared and up to the task.
