[1000mp] 1000MP ower Supply

Group,
          This morning when I tried to turn on my FT-1000MP all it did was make a soft "moaning" sound.  Thinking that the internal power supply was bad, I changed the rig over to use an external source of power. And...the radio came to life and seems to be working fine.
         So...is the FT-1000MP's internal power supply repairable? Is it worth the effort? Or should I try for a replacement part from Yaesu Parts? Need some advice and counsel.
