In 1953 I was in a F-84 Fighter/Bomber wing in South Korea. The F-84s had
ARC-3s. The C-45s had ARC-5s.
In 1954 I was in a SAC fighter wing. We still had some ARC-5 VHF units in
service. Our F-84s at that time had ARC-27s. In 1955 we converted to F-48Fs
and they had ARC-33s.
The KB-29s in service at that time also had BC-453s installed.

Bob,
We later got transformed into an interceptor outfit (F-86D's). We had a
C-47 Gooney and a C-45. Both had ARC-3 VHF radios.
All the Jet jobs (T-33A's and F-86's) had ARC-27 UHF radios. I worked
around 10 years as "permanent party" with that outfit.
(LA. ANG) We eventually mumped the F-86D/L and then were flying the
F-102A with same air defense mission.
