I just ran across a website that is a great resource for researching old  
parts, equipment, etc.:

It has complete copies of most all of Radio Shack's catalogs, from 1939 to  
2005.  Of course, back before the 70's, Radio Shack was a hard parts  
dealer, similar to Allied.
