During the last few years I have been purchasing the 8 and 11 pin plugs, sockets, and shells that were used with our vintage radio stuff for power cables from Wire-Pro Inc (WPI). The components have been stocked by Allied Electronics. I bought enough for 2 cables earlier this year.
Last night I went to Allied to order some more and found a very limited supply. It seems that Wire-Pro is no more. These connectors are now listed under "Cooper Interconnect". I went to the Cooper website and I found these connectors were not listed.
Wire-Pro also sold the Amphenol microphone connectors that were used on our BA radio gear. These were available from Allied but I did not see them last night either. They also are not on the Cooper web site.
There are still a few places on the web with some limited stock on these items.
I may just have to start building more modern solid state radio stuff. My only access to junk components is eBay and a once a year swap meet.
