Hi Preston and welcome to the list.
You might want to expand on your request a bit and specify just what you will be doing with your first boatanchor receiver, that is: just SWLing, primarily for CW, primarily for AM ham use, good freq readout, etc. There are a lot of boatanchor receivers out there, some are great and some are not. And prices vary accordingly. Also, you may need to do some work on your choice depending on condx...tell us more.
