do you have an audio sig. gen. you can feed into the mic jack and see
if the V2 puts out a modulated sine wave?

Now i thought that was a bit of an odd coincidence.  verified wiring from the G stand cthru the cable clear into pin one of the 6au6.  Everything checks ok.  Just no audio.
