[Boatanchors] Sig gen I-151

In conversing with a very reputable and knowledgable person about military equipment pertaining to a previous request for information on a I-151 signal generator i've come to the conclusion that its not really a n I-151.  Why that number is on the front panel, well somebody knows and it is not I.  The other ID for it is a Hickock 198.  Does that sound more reasonable for a commercial piece of gear?  This one is in pretty decent shape.  It is nice and clean inside.  It had one bad tube which was a 6SJ7.  Other tubes are 6SN7, 6X5 and 6V6 for output.  Only 4 controls on the front of it, frequency band selector switch, frequency tuning, out put level and on-off.  Black wrinkle paint cabinet that has almost no flaking.  Ring any bells?
