Thanks for the info, Ruff...
>>>
It is the DOE/FBI common, used in conjunction with the NEST teams. This =
would be logical since 171.200 is a primary NEST frequency, usually a =
portable repeater with various inputs, here it was
<<<
The 171.2 frequency was interesting in that it was simplex, no PL tone, a=
nd
the comms were very informal. No call signs, just first names. There were=
complaints about getting proper credentials for access to areas, needing =
AA
batteries, get me a water, etc. and other stuff. They did have personnel=
at each public entrance, but I never did spot who they were.
>>>
165.9125 and 173.8875 are ATF (or whatever =
they're called now) direct channels. =
<<<
I'm thinking it may have actually been Customs. They were running the big=
X-ray machine that can scan 18-wheelers at the stadium. The comms on
165.9125 were simplex, P-25 digital with some units running encryption,
some were not. The 173.8875 frequency was also P-25, but not used much, s=
o
it could have been them, too. Game day the comms were about vehicles
entering the stadium secured area...
>>>
The 170's are all FBI assignments (or =
Justice Dept, to be more specific, since 170.750 is also used by the Bord=
er
Patrol).
<<<
I assumed that also, but with some agencies getting changed, molded,
absorbed, whatever in Homeland Security, I would not be surprised to see
some agencies start showing up on oddball assignments...
