[GreenKeys] PC Power Supply

Well.....so much for the "experts" at CompUSA. A friend of mine
happened to have a new-in-the-box power supply for the Compaq
(250 watt model). I plugged it into the PC and it turned right on
and now works fine.

Interestingly, the "new" power supply that CompUSA installed has a
lot of dirt/dust in it and one of the capacitors looks like it has
"erupted". I am assuming my home power is a little lower than the
AC at the store and that's why the power supply wouldn't kick in.
I also assume they never replaced the power supply: when they plugged
the machine in to check it the first time and it started up, they just threw
a ticket on it and chalked it up to "cockpit error".

I won't be buying anything from them anymore (and I have bought at least
four PC's from them in the past).

Thanks to everyone for their help and tips.
