[GreenKeys] RE: SELCAL - auto start proposed

Well we were the east coast Branch. It was 3620 - was never on 20 autostart
so have no idea.. Most of the time Keith P was running the show. I was
pretty young at the time. At the time I got all the components (assemblies)
through a friend of Keiths at Michigan Bell to build a completely new never
used 28ASR which took hundreds (thousands? millions?) of hours to assemble.
This included a brand new (surplus) cabinet. This was sold to Bob Fine and
is now owned by Chris (Matt?) Fine who monitors this net. He claims he's
going to turn it on again.

Many of us at time built receivers out of surplus crystal controlled RF
boards from Frederick Electronics. One of the fellows on the net was a
young intern at Frederick, don't remember his name..

At the time my TU was the 'mainline TTL2'. I got the schematics directly
from Keith. Lots of tubes. Worked good.

Gerry

Hi Gerry:

From my poor and rusted memory, wasn't 14,087.5 what was
used on Twenty for autostart?

Your mention of Irv's name brought back a flood of memories.
Especially as I am here working over my ST-6.

Thanks de John, Irv's former neighbor
..
