Holy Machinery, Batman, That thing could be replace with one solly state
integrated circuit!
I see it has only the rotating mechanism, no tape feed, sensing or punching.
I have a dual head M-28 Transmitter/Distributor that is apparently able to
read tape and send out parallel signals. Maybe it's of the same era and
it's signals could feed the 28 distributor we are talking about. My T/D
seems to be running at 60 WPM. I timed the characters per 10 seconds..
There is marked on the tape feed bin the following:
60 WPM: 70 char/10 seconds
100 WPM: 72(?) char/5 seconds.
I let it run for 20 seconds, made marks on the tape, and counted the
squiggles: I got 70 in the first 10 seconds and 69 in the next 10 seconds,
so I assume the gears are for 60 WPM.
