That is truly a sad story - especially since they were in
such good condition.
I recall a time when a RTTY ham would have driven miles
to get a 28-ASR!
No - wait; I've got one better: I sold my 28-ASR to a
ham in Mexico. He flew to NY (plane ticket), looked over
the machine and bought it (Kilobuck), had it crated (couple
hundred), had it shipped to Mexico (couple hundred), got it
thru customers (don't know how much the pay-off was for that),
and had it delivered to his QTH.
