And if you still use an old PK-232 or the like to give you some  
capability not available with your software (PACTOR for example) you  
can use the ST-8000 or the ST-8000A as a receive only "front end" for  
your system.  Simply set the internals to simultaneously output those  
nice clean regenerated audio tones into your follow-on box and viola,  
great copy.
