Since I moderate The Telecom Digest, I asked for help from the readers
in locating sources of Teletype machines.

Here's a reply from Bob Rennert -

I used to work on Teletype machines for the Coast Guard. I was
stationed in New York and our facility overhauled them. They were kept
at a couple of different places, one of which was a warehouse on
Governors Island. Governors Island was however returned to the city of
New York, but you might try the Brooklyn Navy yard. They had a lot of
warehouse facilities and the government used to sell at auction all
sorts of obsolete comms gear. Good luck. Wish I knew someone to put
you in touch with there, but it's been too long.
