FWIW, I'll go with what the O-ring manufactures say about compatibility.

Rubber is a non-specific generic (meaningless) term. All black O-rings are 
not the same. O-rings are specified by the elastomer chemistry.
So, unless you know the specific type of material, e.g. buna-n, nitrile, 
EP, etc. you really don't know what is compatible.

If this topic was ad nauseum before, what is it now?
