[GreenKeys] an idea

Well...we don't need to reinvent TTD, the system used for telephony by
deaf people, which started out using old Teletype machines and some very
simple modems. The modem sounds like FSK, but only the space tone is
detected by the receiver. The mark tone is there to suppress echoes
in the telephone system, and turns off when there is nothing being sent
so that no send-receive switch is needed.
Back in the early days of TTD there was a system in St. Louis that
stored things like news of the day on paper tape and could be called
up by people wanting to read it.
There's also the hub system run by the Morse Telegraph Club that provides
a round-table sort of connection for Morse users.
But now if we are worried about the telephone/internet infrastructure,
well there is always amateur radio, "when all else fails." Some members
of this group are operating with Real Teletype machines rather than with
computers.
